Fund Raising LetterDear Contributor There are many worthy causes to which you may be donating your hard-earned monies, and we encourage you to continue to do so. Charitable contributions are one way for you to help another human being and be a part of an organization’s spiritual mission. Such actions generally make us feel good and are blessed on High. The latter is so, because through kindness and compassionate caring, we are behaving spiritually in G-d’s (God’s) image, even if we neither believe in a Creator nor connect with Him in our daily lives. The Creator lives within all of us through giving each of us a spiritual selfless soul, although for most of us, this soul may be “hidden” to varying degrees behind our own egos and the gratification of self. This “concealment of the soul” was intentional and is the basis of our G-d-given free will. Even our choice to believe, love, and trust in the Creator is under our control, and not the Creator Himself. The cornerstone of our Shechinah Third Temple’s mission is different in one sense from all other charitable organizations. We believe that G-d’s long term goal for humankind has always been for us to awaken our hidden soul, so that we can walk in peace together into the Messianic age. We live in a dangerous world where our fate lies in human hands. The Shechinah Third Temple’s mission is to call upon the assistance of the Creator in order that He take a more active role to ensure the harmony of humankind, and therefore avoid an apocalyptic destructive End of Days. By our endeavors, we hope to bring the Creator back onto the public stage once more, as He was some 3,300 years ago at Mount Sinai when He presented the Israelites with the Ten Commandments. Although G-d is present in our souls and in our lives, we see Him only hither and there if we are fortunate to have, and to recognize that we have had, a spiritual experience. The Divine Presence (Shechinah) will once again dwell among us if we rebuild His House, the Third Temple, for all humankind. As the prophet states in the Book of Isaiah 56:7, “For my house shall be called a house of prayer for all peoples.” And as written in the Book of Exodus 25:8, G-d tells Moses, “They shall make me a Sanctuary and I shall dwell among them,” G-d did dwell in the Tabernacle during the wanderings of Israelites in the Sinai Desert, and then later in king Solomon’s First Temple. As so eloquently further spoken by Isaiah 56:7, “The earth shall be full of the knowledge of God [in Messianic times] as waters cover the sea.” What is the Messianic age? It is a time at the End of Days when there will be a Third Temple in Israel, a Messianic king (Moshiach in Hebrew), and an opportunity for all of us to live together in peace and harmony in the absence of evil and war. It is ‘Shangri-La.’ If this period arrives before we die, then we shall be blessed to be a part of it. However, even if we die before the Messianic age is upon us, our bones and bodies, infused with our souls, can be resurrected so that we may live again. And as promised by the healing prophecy of Isaiah 35:5-6, “The eyes of the blind will be opened, the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped, then shall the lame man leap as a hart [young male deer] and the tongue of the dumb shall sing.” How long we shall live and whether our youth will be restored is not known, although Daniel’s biblical vision, which you can read about on our website (connect to www.shechinahthirdtemple.org or www.thirdtempleinfo.com), speaks about some individuals being resurrected to eternal life during the Messianic age. If you ask, “Will I be part of this Messianic age and the Third Temple?” We neither can answer nor guarantee that for you, because we were each given free will to bring our spiritual souls into our material world, to do “good”. Free will also means that at the End of Days, there will be a Judgment Day. G-d “sees all” and we each shall be judged for our speech and actions in this life. Depending upon G-d’s Will, we shall be graced with an entry into the Messianic age. Each of us have endless opportunities in our daily lives to change. God gives us a lifetime to do so and walk the spiritual path, which is both a personal and gradual process. We suggest that a good beginning is to make a donation to the future building of G-d’s Third Temple, but read on. We cannot accomplish the mission of the Shechinah Third Temple, Inc. without your help. We ask that you give from your heart and make a tax deductible donation. You can do this by sending us your check in the enclosed envelope, or by making your secure online contribution by credit card on our website, www.shechinahthirdtemple.org or www.thirdtempleinfo.com . Even if you choose not to donate monies at this time, we ask that you go to our website and read the educational, cultural and historical information. Most important, we need your help to spread the word about our efforts to pave the way for the building of G-d’s Third Temple. One way you can spread the word is to hit the “send a friend” green button on our site, which allows you to email up to ten friends and tell them about our website. There is a story of the brothers, Cain and Abel, in the Hebrew Bible. Cain becomes jealous of Abel because he feels that G-d favored Abel over him. Cain’s envy causes him to kill Abel. Why should Cain feel this way? Both brothers gave offerings to G-d, yet Abel chose among the very best of his crops to honor his Creator. Cain on the other hand made a token offer, almost reluctantly, from his flock. In fact, Cain purposely selected an offering of his flock that was blemished. The moral to the story is that “quality counts” and no matter what your donation to the Shechinah Third Temple, Inc., even if it is a single dollar, we welcome your help if you give from your heart. Of course, the amount you send is important because more dollars will help us achieve our mission sooner. However, contributions, small or large, honor the Creator and are looked kindly upon by Him. Please donate only the amount you truly want to give, freely and unconditionally, from your heart, and not a penny more. We don’t want you to give reluctantly because that’s a different kind of giving, akin to Cain. And your donation is meant to be followed with changes that you make spiritually in your life, as best you can. Spirituality is free although it’s not easy to acquire since we not only have to perform good (accentuate the positive) or non-hurtful (prevent the negative) deeds, but also we need to invest in the additional time required by these “kinder” actions. For many of us, time is something we have so little of in our lives. Virtually the entire human race knows the difference between good and bad. What’s important, however, are the choices we make for good and bad during our lifetimes. Superceding our natural tendencies and improving our behavior to gradually become more selfless and less self is admirable in G-d’s “eyes”, for then we walk beside Him. You have our eternal thanks and blessings. If it be G-d’s Will, we shall see you in the Messianic age. Warmly, Jerry Pollock, Ph.D., President |
